The UIB Faculty of Medicine offers two types of mobility:

  • A short-stay programme (extracurricular placements)
  • Exchange programmes: ERASMUS, SICUE, etc.

1. Short-stay Programme (extracurricular placements)

This programme is aimed at medical students enrolled in the third year higher at an university in the European Higher Education Area for  stays between two and four weeks at IBSalut hospital services in June, July, August and September with a maximum of two weeks in the same service.

Pre-registration must be done at least two months in advance, using the application form linked below on this page and attaching a document that proves you are a third-year student or higher on a degree in medicine programme, as well as a copy of your ID document.

The programme does not provide any credit recognition since it comprises extracurricular placements. The programme represents an exclusive agreement between students and the UIB Faculty of Medicine, and does not involve students' home universities. Therefore, the signing of the agreement or any documentation is not applicable.

Students will be able to observe actual working professionals in the hospital network, although they will in no way be allowed to interact with patients without proper supervision.

Students need to download the placement logbook from the website of the UIB Faculty of Medicine administrative services, which must be filled in during their placement and returned at the end of their stay so that the work undertaken by both the students and the tutors may be certified.

This stay does not represent any type of contractual relationship with the UIB or IBSalut.

2. Exchange Programmes: ERASMUS, SICUE, etc.

Official curricular programmes are managed by the UIB International Relations Office (SRI). The SRI website contains all the relevant information and contact details.

These programmes do not include the sixth-year subjects on the UIB Degree in Medicine (rotations).
